There's no other luxury sedan that delivers the C-Class's blend of presence, comfort and resale in Ghana. It also has the deepest parts and mechanics ecosystem of any European car here. But running costs vary hugely by generation.
W205 (2015–2021): the sweet spot
This is the generation to target. C300 with the 2.0L turbo strikes the best balance of performance, fuel economy and parts availability. Avoid the rare 4MATIC variants if you can — fewer parts in Ghana.
W206 (2022+): newest, priciest
Beautiful inside, fully digital. Excellent if your budget allows, but parts ecosystem is still maturing locally.
Older generations (W204 and below)
Cheap to buy, more expensive to keep healthy. Air suspension and electronics on high-mileage examples can become problematic.
Real ownership costs
Budget GHS 4,000–7,000/year for routine servicing if you use a competent independent shop. Original dealer servicing is double that. Tyres and brakes are noticeably more expensive than equivalent Japanese cars.
